Lisa Boyle was born and raised in Finksburg, Maryland. She received bachelor’s degrees in journalism and international affairs from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. As part of her college program, Lisa traveled the Middle East and spent two months reporting on political and human-interest stories. She has been published in various online publications and magazines, and has held many different jobs over the years from cheesemonger, to educator at the U.S.S. Constitution Museum. Lisa’s debut novel, Signed, A Paddy, won the 2022 Eric Hoffer First Horizon Book Award, the 2022 Eric Hoffer Historical Fiction Book Award, the 2022 IPPY Awards Best Regional Fiction, U.S. Northeast - Bronze Medal, and was a finalist for the 2022 Next Generation Indie Book Awards, Historical Fiction - Pre-1900s. Lisa’s first crime fiction novel, In the Silence of Decay, won the 2024 IPPY Awards Best Regional Fiction, U.S. West Mountain - Gold Medal. Lisa, her husband, and their daughter live in South Carolina where they enjoy hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
